Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - The State of Israel today donated a consignment of medical equipment to Moldova. The humanitarian assistance will be delivered to medical institutions of the country.

At the event, the state secretary of the Health Ministry, Ion Prisacaru, thanked the nation and the authorities of Israel for the donation made.

„We have a nice cooperation with colleagues from Israel. On the pandemic period, they were with us and helped us cope with the challenges through the providing of batches of medicines, medical and protection equipment. The same occurred after the unleashing of the war in Ukraine too, when from the very first day, physicians from Israel provided assistance to refugees both at border crossing points and at placement centres. We are sure that, due to this assistance, the local physicians will manage provide the citizens with modern and qualitative medical services,’’ Ion Prisacaru said.

The consignment donated comprises medical equipment for diagnosis and surgery rooms. ‘’They are meant for the hospitals from Moldova which provide medical assistance to citizens from Ukraine. The donation will be delivered to the territory on the next days. This is the first installment of equipment; the second one is to arrive in the country too.  The assistance is provided by the Israeli state both for refugees and Moldova’s citizens. We have a very good communication with the Moldovan authorities and we assure you that we will continue providing every needed support,’’ Ambassador of Israel to Moldova Joel Lyon said.

The cost of the humanitarian assistance provided by Israel is of 700,000 dollars.
