Moldovan deputy PM assesses regional projects carried out by North Regional Development Agency

Chisinau, 7 July /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu on 6 July paid a working visit to the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), after the cabinet meeting held in Balti. The official showed interest in the present situation as to the implementation of regional development projects in north Moldova, as well as other activities of the institution.      

According to Andrei Spanu, ‘’the North Development Region gives us a nice and mobility perspective through the Marculesti airport.’’ ‘’We want to make investments in this infrastructure point, in order to allow local residents, as well as the people from the region to benefit from more fluidity. We work at the Ministry on the plan on modernization/development of the Marculesti International Airport and analyze the possibility of using this regional airport point, with international status, oriented to the low-cost air market,’’ the deputy PM noted.   

The official also informed that the list of states which passed the contest within the European Village local development programme would be soon announced.

During 2022-2024, 13 projects worth about 284.6 million lei (approx. 14.2 million euros) are implemented in the North Development Region from sources of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. Most money is invested in water supply systems, construction of water treatment stations and extending sewerage systems, rehabilitation and modernization of parks, museums, historical monuments.    

The visit by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu to ADR Nord took place following a meeting of the Moldova’s government held in Balti on 6 July. The cabinet of minister yesterday adopted more important decisions, including for the residents from the northern region.
