Giurgiulesti-Galati railway segment reopened for goods transport from Ukraine

Chisinau, 7 July /MOLDPRES/ - The railway Giurgiulesti, Cahul, Moldova – Galati, Romania, has been reopened for the transport of goods from Ukraine, through more terminals of the Galati Port. The Moldovan Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR) made statements to this effect today.
The freight trains which move through Moldova can unload cereals and other products directly in the Galati Port, avoiding the transshipment at the border.
„The ministry’s team, along with the one of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure from Romania, work to ease the export/import of goods and remove all blockages from the state border,’’ MIDR said.
