USAID administrator appreciates progress made by Moldovan governance in rapprochement with European standards

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has had a discussion with Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), during her visit to Washington. The sides referred to USAID projects underway in Moldova, as well as to future ideas of financing, which would contribute to the development of the infrastructure, education, agriculture, tourism, mass media and transparentizing the financial system, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Natalia Gavrilita touched upon the latest developments and the humanitarian crisis, social and economic situation and the one of regional security, as well as the major responsibilities implied by the status of country candidate for accession to EU, got by Moldova three weeks ago.     

The USAID administrator appreciated the substantial progress recorded by the Moldovan governance in the rapprochement with the European Union’s standards in all sectors. Samantha Power said that the USA, implicitly the institution she leads, would stay close to Moldova’s citizens and the encouraging of the consolidation of the participatory democracy and the sustainable economic growth would remain on the top of the agenda of the projects underway in Moldova.    

The meeting between Natalia Gavrilita and Samantha Power is the second one in the last half a year.
