Thirty new ambulances delivered to emergency medical assistance sub-stations from Moldova

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Health Ministry today distributed 30 new ambulances to sub-stations and emergency medical assistance points from Moldova. At the same time, till the end of this year, the motor vehicle fleet of the National Centre of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance (CNAMUP) is to be completed with another 170 new vehicles.
The ambulances were delivered by Health Minister Ala Nemerenco, who said that, due to these cars, citizens would have quicker access to the medical services. ‘’The modernization of the medical assistance institutions from Moldova is our priority. The today’s event is an important step in the renewal of the current motor vehicle fleet. On the period 2018-2021, 165 new ambulances were purchased and till the end of this year, we are set to bring another 170 vehicles; thus, the cars from the motor vehicle fleet will be changed at a level of 40 per cent. At the same time, I instructed that all old-type vehicles should be withdrawn,’’ the health minister said.
Those 30 ambulances are worth 1.8 million euros. The motor vehicle fleet of CNAMUP is made up of 430 vehicles and about 190 of them daily intervene upon patients’ calls. According to the health sector authorities, the park would needed to be endowed with another 100 ambulances.
