Moldovan head of state, foreign affairs, defence minister of Ireland discuss bilateral relations

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence of Ireland Simon Coveney, on a visit to Chisinau. The discussions were focused on opportunities of development of the Moldovan-Irish relations and on stimulation of the economic and sectoral cooperation.
According to the presidential press service, the Irish official welcomed the fact that Moldova had received the status of country candidate for EU and reaffirmed the support for its European integration. For her part, Maia Sandu thanked for the support on behalf of Ireland in this process, as well as in the Moldova Support Platform. The sides also emphasized the significant contribution of the Moldovan citizens from Ireland, who are well-integrated in the Irish society, to the development of the bilateral relations. In the context, the Irish minister noted that the decision-makers were presently working on an agreement on recognition and conversion of driver’s licences and the one on education diplomas.
