Regional entrepreneurship hub to be opened in Sangerei town of Moldova

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - A regional hub for backing the social entrepreneurship today was inaugurated in Sangerei, with the European Union’s support.   

At the hub, social enterprises will get support through trainings, qualified consultancy and expertise, which will guide entrepreneurs in the process of starting and extending businesses, from which an as large as possible number of people from their community will benefit. On the next period, the hub will provide support to 20 young people to develop their social entrepreneurship ideas and another ten enterprises will be backed to orient their businesses in fields of community interest.

„The European Union supports social entrepreneurs in the development of business and its extension. The social entrepreneurs are those who contribute to the settlement of social problems from the community they belong to, creating equal and inclusive opportunities of development. This hub will contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the people from the north region. We will provide every needed support for the setting up of social enterprises, which will create new jobs, including for people from vulnerable groups,’’ Head of the EU Delegation in Moldova Jānis Mažeiks said.    

The social entrepreneurship represents a continuous activity of manufacturing production, carrying out works and providing services for the settlement of social problems. At the same time, the employment of disadvantaged people – young people, persons with special needs, immigrants, Romanies, elderly people, will contribute to the improving of their living standards and will provide them with professional opportunities.
