Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The European Union has increased the budgetary support provided to Moldova. European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi has made statements to this effect, according to a today’s press release by the EU Delegation in Chisinau.

According to the quoted source, those 60 million euros, provided in last December for the management of the energy crisis, are supplied with another 75 million euros. The financial resources are provided for overcoming the challenges triggered by Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.

„The support provided by the European Union and its member states to Moldova is meant to complete: the macro-financial assistance worth 150 million euros; the emergency support for the management of the flow of refugees worth over 43 million euros; essential goods, medicines, generators, etc. for refugees from Ukraine, amounting to over 31 million euros,’’ the EU Embassy in Moldova said.
