Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 19 July paid a visit to the settlements Falestii-Noi, Parlita and Rautel from her native district of Falesti, the presidential press service has reported.
„I was happy to learn that these three communities are part of those 492 rural settlements from Moldova which won projects within the European Village programme. Two projects are for the construction of the aqueduct and one – for street illumination. We want our villages to be full of people and we will continue financially backing them, in order to improve the living conditions in each of them,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
The head of state discussed with people about their daily cares – prices’ increase, drought, energy crisis, quality of medical services and the war at the country’s border. Maia Sandu informed that the government worked on a new programme on residents’ support during the cold period of the year, as well as about other initiatives of the authorities, which must contribute to attenuating the consequences of numerous crises which we face. ‘’I also spoke about the long run expectations of the citizens, including in the context of the getting of the status of country candidate for accession to the European Union and the opportunities provided by this status on medium and long terms. For a short term, we further face major problems triggered by the war in Ukraine and we should remain united, with solidarity, keep peace in the society,’’ Maia Sandu told the local residents.
In the end of the visit, the Moldovan president welcomed the children whom she found working at the centre of traditional trades in the Rautel village.
