Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs have stood silent for one minute in the memory of the victims of the armed conflict for the defence of Moldova’s territorial integrity and independence. The 30th anniversary of the signing of the ceasefire agreement between Moldova and Russia, through which the 1991-1992 armed conflict at Dniester ended, is marked today.

„This wound is still bleeding in more families, which lost their fathers, brothers and grandfathers. Today we commemorate the sacrifice of our citizens and, at the same time, we are much more sensitive to the ordeal of our Ukrainian neighbours. Having this tragic experience, we have every determination to continue the peaceful dialogue for the political settlement of the Transnistrian conflict,’’ Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihail Popsoi said.

Under a parliament decision, the 2022 year was declared year of gratitude for the war veterans, participants in the combat actions for the defence of Moldova’s territorial integrity and independence.
