Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - An MP of the Shor Party, Marina Tauber, today was stripped off parliamentary immunity. The parliament approved two decisions to this end, at a request by acting Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu.

At the meeting, the acting prosecutor general said that Marina Tauber was regarded in two criminal files. ‘’The first file was opened on the fact of acceptance of Shor Political Party’s financing by an organized crime ring. At the same time, she is suspected of having forged the report on the financial management of the Shor Political Party for the first half of 2022, with the intention to hide the volume of financial means gained and the one of used ones. For the first half of this year, the party showed that it was financed with 1.7 million lei (about 85,000 euros), - data which would not be true,’’ Dumitru Robu said.

The leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office stressed that the money of dubious origin had been used in party interest, such as fees for artists, salaries for members and organization of protests. ‘’In the first half of this year, the party would have made payments worth 600,000 euros, while the reported expenses were amounting to over 228,000 lei. Monthly salaries to party members worth 100,000 euros would have been paid from the same sources and over 3.5 million lei would have been used for the carriage of participants in the protests on the Great National Assembly Square,’’ Robu noted.

For her part, MP of the Shor Party, Marina Tauber, described the decision as political one. ‘’I do not hide anything and I am not afraid of detentions and searches. I am in the country and this proves my innocence and the fact that I am ready to cooperate with the inquiry,’’ Tauber specified.

The projects on the lift of the parliamentary immunity were backed with the votes of 57 and, respectively, 58 lawmakers. The documents enter into force on the date of approval.

Marina Tauber was stripped off parliamentary immunity for the second time. In late last May, the MP was deprived of immunity, being prosecuted in a file on the taking over of the control of the work of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank), Unibank and Banca Sociala (Social Bank).
