Meeting of Moldova-North Carolina bilateral committee to be soon held in Chisinau

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, during her visit to the United States, has held a dialogue with the State Secretary of North Carolina Elaine Marshall, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

The participants in the discussion put emphasis on the development of the Moldova-North Carolina partnership relations, such as education and health. The sides also referred to the lamentable situation of the regional security, admission of children of refugees from Ukraine to education institutions, strengthening of the partnership between Moldova’s National Army and the National Guard of North Carolina, as well as the enhancing of the energy efficiency in public institutions and the need to diversify the energy resources.  

The prime minister appreciated the involvement of North Carolina authorities in the support in the sanitary sector in Moldova, by providing trainings to medical employees, as well as in the education field – through providing humanitarian assistance necessary to endow schools and organize exchange of experience for teachers and students. Natalia Gavrilita reconfirmed the fact that the minister she led made sustained efforts to face the crises triggered by the international context, to maintain the economic stability and, respectively, the well-being of the Moldovan citizens.      

State Secretary of North Carolina Elaine Marshall appreciated the steps undertaken by the Moldovan governance to implement the reforms needed for advancing on the European way, as well as the solidarity proved by Moldova with the Ukrainian refugees in the last months. The American official spoke out for the organization of a meeting of the North Carolina-Moldova bilateral committee in a short period, maybe even in next autumn in Chisinau.    

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita on 14-21 July pays a working visit to the USA, where a meeting of governmental leaders, business and science people is held, who discuss some of the most complex changes faced by the mankind at present.
