Moldovan citizens can administer dose Booster 2 of vaccine against COVID-19 as of 25 July

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - Citizens can administer the dose Booster 2 of vaccine against COVID-19 starting from today.    

According to the Health Ministry, people older than 60 years, people with comorbidities, pregnant women and those who suckle, beneficiaries of residential institutions and placement centres are eligible for the second Booster dose.    

Also, the medical staff from the medical and sanitary institutions, the personnel from the residential institutions, placement centres, social services, the education sector employees and the ones from the structures for maintaining and ensuring public order, state’s defence and security is eligible too.  

At the same time, specialists recommend the administering of the second Booster dose to the people severely immunocompromised who turned the age of 18 years. The people of 18 years of age and older, who are not members of the categories eligible for vaccination, can be immunized at request too.    

The second booster dose will be administered at an interval of at last four months after the Booster 1 dose, with the use of the vaccines Comirnaty/Pfizer-BioNTech or Spikevax/Moderna. About 1,067,000 people have been vaccinated with the full scheme since the beginning of the pandemic.   

Presently, Green Code of COVID-19 remains in Moldova, and Orange Code was declared in the Chisinau city. At the same time, Yellow Code of coronavirus was announced in the Ialoveni and Anenii Noi settlements.
