About 1,600 cases of infection with COVID-19 registered in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - About 1,600 COVID-19 cases were registered in the Moldovan capital in the last week, which is by about 700 cases more against the week before. The head of the Chisinau city hall’s general department for medical and social assistance, Boris Gilca, today made statements to this effect at an operative meeting of the municipal services.     

According to Gilca, one death was recorded on this period too. ‘’The Chisinau municipality remains under the Orange Code of coronavirus. Presently, about 300 people infected with COVID-19 are hospitalized in the capital, of whom 80 are children and 48 – pregnant women. The patients have light and medium-seriousness forms. Most often, the people with positive tests were not vaccinated; therefore, we recommend that the citizens are vaccinated and do not expose to risk,’’ Boris Gilca said.       

Under an order by the Health Ministry, as of today, citizens can administer the Booster 2 dose of vaccine against COVID-19. About, 1,067,000 people have been vaccinated with the full scheme since the beginning of the pandemic.    

At present, the country remains in Green Code of COVID-19 and the Yellow Code of coronavirus was announced in the Ialoveni and Anenii Noi settlements.
