Polish government to provide one million euros for modernizing Mother and Child Institute

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Mother and Child Institute will be equipped with medical devices worth over one million euros. The money will be provided by the government of Poland, which approved a proposal of project, submitted by the Health Ministry in last April.
Health Minister of Poland Adam Niedzielski and his Moldovan counterpart Ala Nemerenco at a today’s meeting agreed on the steps as regards the implementation of the project on modernization of the medical institution. Thus, the first stage of the project implies the endowment of the Mother and Child Institute with electro-encephalographs, multifunctional monitors for patients, neonatal lung ventilators with high frequency, defibrillators, resuscitation tables, incubators for prematurely born children, ultrasound apparatus, lamps and operation tables, electro-surgery units, etc. The project also envisages the sections’ renovation.
Health Minister Ala Nemerenco thanked her Polish counterpart for the support provided to the Moldovan medical system, in order to consolidate the technical and material basis of the medical institutions. For his part, Adam Niedzielski expressed openness for further backing the Moldovan authorities’ efforts as to the modernization of the health system.
The project’s overall value is of about 1.5 million euros. During 2009-2022, 28 projects in the health sector worth about 500,000 euros have been implemented with the support of Poland’s government.
