Over 75 per cent of Chisinau residents pay tax on real estate

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - Over 75 per cent of the Chisinau residents have paid the tax on real estate. Under the legislation, the payments were to be made till 30 June 2022.   

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the collection of local taxes department of the Chisinau city hall, Cristina Vizitiu, said that 162 million lei (about 8.1 million euros) had been collected so far out of 215 million lei planned. ‘’The money is collected in the local budget. The payment notices were sent to 250,000 Chisinau residents. The citizens who failed to pay the tax till present can do this during the year. They will pay a penalty of 0.0301 per cent of the sum for each day of delay,’’ Cristina Vizitiu noted.    

Under a decision by the Chisinau Municipal Council, the quota of the tax on real estate with dwelling purpose was established at 0.185 per cent of the value estimated on the purpose of taxation, which is made by the cadastral body.    

The tax can be paid through the financial institutions or through the service, Payment of the tax on real estate with payment notice, available on the webpage, www.mpay.gov.md.
