Moldovan cabinet approves cutting of tariffs for issuing passports, identity papers

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The tariffs for a string of services provided by the Public Services Agency (ASP) will be cut as of 1 August 2022 and the list of beneficiaries of facilities in getting of public services will be extended. The cabinet approved a decision to this end today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

Thus, the passports issued to Moldova’s citizens in a period of 20 working days will cheapen by 200 lei from 850 to 650 lei. People asking for the issuance of passports in ten working days will pay 1,240 lei instead of 1,280 lei and citizens will pay 1,430 lei for the passport’s issuance in 5 days, and not 1,490 lei, as it has been till present. To raise the passport on the day of addressing, the applicant will pay 2,080 lei instead of 2,130 lei. ASP annually issues about 450,000 passports, of which about 60 per cent are issued in 20 working days.   

Also, the tariffs for the services of issuing extracts from information resources of the Public Services Agency, in form of electronic document, ordered through web applications, will be cut by 20 per cent as well. Presently, ASP issues seven such extracts. Starting from January 2023, the list might be extended up to 27 documents in electronic format. To order and receive an extract in electronic format, the applicant should hold the electronic signature.  

The draft also proposes a three-fold reduction of the tariffs for the services of manufacturing of identity papers for refugees, beneficiaries of humanitarian protection for stateless people. Those who ask for the issuance of the identity card in a period of 20 working days will pay 130 lei, instead of 350 lei. The services of the paper’s issuance in 10 days will cost 260 lei, by 440 lei cheaper than so far. Also, the issuance of the document in five working days cheapened by 660 lei, with the tariff standing at 390 lei. Those who ask for the identity card’s issuance in one day will pay 520 lei, instead of 1,400 lei and citizens will pay 650 lei, instead of 1,750, as it has been till present, for the release of the document on the day of addressing.     

The draft decision also sees the free of charge delivery, in a period of 5 working days, of the information from state information resources held by the Public Services Agency, in form of electronic document, to mass media representatives.
