Moldovan president hands Master in Art title to fine artist

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu met sculptor Dumitru Verdianu on 27 July. The head of state handed to the fine artist the honorific title of Master in Art, awarded in the beginning of this year on the occasion of the National Culture Day, as a token of gratitude for the promotion of the spiritual values of the nation and for outstanding progress made in the creation activity, the presidential press service has reported.   

In her discussion with Dumitru Verdianu, President Maia Sandu thanked him for the devotion to the art, for sharing his mastership with people, as well as for backing the creation events in his native city of Ungheni. The head of state also encouraged Verdianu to participate in a creation camp in Chisinau, to speak about the specific features of the profession to all people fond of the native sculpture.  

The works by sculptor Dumitru Verdianu are appreciated on the entire European continent. He staged over 200 personal exhibitions in diverse cities and countries and his works are preserved in both private and state collections.
