Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - Candidates for the contest on admission to the National Justice Institute (INJ) will be obliged to submit the declaration of assets and personal interests in the same conditions as the civil servants, judges and prosecutors. The parliament adopted a draft law to this end in the second reading today.
Under the document, the amendments regard the activity and accession to INJ. The candidates for the admission contest will submit the declaration of assets and personal interests. Thus, the transparency of the wealth of the future judges, prosecutors will be ensured, starting from their professional training. At the same time, the declarations of assets, submitted at the accession to INJ, will serve as starting point for the assessment of the wealth of the future judges and prosecutors, which will allow identifying potential corruption acts.
Also, the draft’s goal is to improve more administrative aspects as to the composition, selection and work of the INJ leadership bodies, which will ensure the proportional representation of the administration bodies of the justice system. In this respect, an equal number will be established between the members of the INJ Council, nominated by the Superior Council of Magistracy and Superior Council of Prosecutors. Also, power will be given to Moldova’s President to nominate one member of the INJ Council.
The consolidation of the National Justice Institute is contained in the action plan on the implementation of the strategy of ensuring the independence and integrity of the justice sector for 2022-2025.
