Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - One of the principal concerns of the people, in the context of the inflation and the economic crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine, is the increase in prices. As for the prices for which patients with chronic diseases presently buy medicines and how the state helps them to this end, we learn answers from patients of the Health Centre from the Chiscareni village, northern Sangerei district, from family physicians and the head of this institution, Elena Caraus, as well as from the director of the Medicine and Medical Devices Agency, Dragos Gutu, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

„Who knows how I would have found my way about without assistance on behalf of the state…’’

Once in three months, Elena, a resident of the Chiscareni village, Sangerei district, goes to the health centre from the village, in order to take her recipe for medicines, without which she cannot live. At her age of 69 years, Elena suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure and has kidney diseases.

„I benefit from compensated medicines against diabetes and high blood pressure. I take the medicines against diabetes for free, while I partially pay for the ones against high blood pressure. I would say that the prices for the medicines I take are not high. The ones for kidneys, for instance, just I was purchasing them with 160 lei for years, the same price I pay this year too. I am happy that the medicines against diabetes are given to me free of charge. Last autumn, I received for free glucose meters, tests for measuring the glucose, needles. I was earlier buying them and they were quite costly. I have recently made more treatments, even of COVID-19 and I am contented with the compensations I received, they helped me much. At present, the expenses for medicines are bearable, are not burdensome as before,’’ the patient said.
