MDelivery governmental delivery service launched in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The governmental delivery service (MDelivery) was officially launched today. Its goal is to provide to the authorities, public institutions and providers of public services an efficient, reliable and modern solution which is to be used as single mechanism of physical delivery of the results of providing of public services to beneficiaries.
As a result of this concept’s development, Moldova’s citizens will be able to order the delivery of the result of the demanded public service to the place of residence and will no longer have to go to the headquarters of the state institutions, in order to take the acts or certificates they need.
„In some cases, it is necessary that we physically go institutions; yet, from now one, the option to receive the documents at home will also be accessible all over Moldova and in the Diaspora. The project is piloted in Leova, Telenesti, Balti, Chisinau and Criuleni and proved how important is that we are show respect for the time and effort of citizens,’’ Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said at the inauguration event.
The concept of the governmental delivery service (MDelivery) was initiated by Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization Iurie Turcanu and was presented at a cabinet meeting in August 2021. ‘’This is a significant result, which confirms the prioritization of the digitalization for the present cabinet and means more freedom for the citizens. I thank the World Bank’s team in Moldova, which backed us in the process of carrying out this project,’’ Iurie Turcanu said.
The MDelivery information platform will be developed through the connection of three subjects: provider of the public service, as sender, the beneficiary of the public service, as addressee of the delivery and the provider of postal services. This platform will diminish the costs for all the three sides involved and will optimize the process of delivery of the result of the public service to the beneficiary.
The development and maintenance of the governmental delivery service (MDelivery) was made with the means of the Modernization of Governmental Services Project. The annual costs for the management of the MDelivery service are estimated at about 400,000 lei (about 20,000 euros) and will be covered from the state budget, through the centralized financing of the Electronic Governance Agency public institution.
