Pre-Vetting Commission starts evaluation of candidates for office of member of Moldova's Superior Council of Magistracy

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - The independent commission for evaluation of the integrity of candidates for the office of member of the self-administration bodies of the judges and prosecutors (Pre-Vetting) has started the process of evaluation of the first group made up of 27 candidates for the position of member of Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) among judges.

In early last June, the Commission published and submitted to candidates the draft form of the declaration of assets and personal interests and the one on the list of close people from the judicial system, the prosecution one and the public service. Subsequently, the Commission invited all candidates to fill in a Questionnaire on the ethic integrity.

Thus, 25 out of those 27 candidates submitted the Questionnaire on the ethic integrity and another 26 ones returned the declaration of assets and personal interests.

One of the candidates did not submit the declaration of assets and personal interests, which led to the non-promotion of the evaluation.

The Pre-Vetting Commission urges citizens to present any information based on reality as regards the financial and ethic integrity of all candidates due to be assessed.
