Ukrainian citizen refugee in Moldova dies of tropical malaria

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - An Ukrainian citizen who took refuge to Moldova has died because of infection with tropical malaria.
According to the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), the man, who was employee of the Odessa Sea Fleet as sailor, was in Western Africa on the period 21 February – 29 June 2022.
On 29 June, the man returned to Moldova and on the period of stay in Africa, he did not administer anti-malaria specific treatment. On 18 July, the patient was diagnosed with tropical malaria and died on the same day.
