14:56 | 29.07.2022 Category: Official

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today conveyed a message on the occasion of the Constitution Day, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The message reads:

„We today mark the 28th anniversary of the adoption of Moldova’s Constitution. On 29 July 1994, following long discussions and editings, the MPs of the first parliament voted our state’s supreme law and the principal symbol of the statehood and sovereignty.

The Constitution is the document which establishes the relations between the citizens and the state. Or at present, more than ever, this binder must be strengthened through assuming and the observance of the string of values contained in the fundamental act and through joining of our efforts, as society, in the fulfillment of the nation’s aspirations – the one to live in a rule of law state, with fair justice, with the observance of the fundamental human rights and freedoms. This is a good occasion to be aware, once again, that the country’s modernization and development is made jointly and continuously.

The nicest thing which can do on the Constitution Day is to observe the laws and commit together to edify a democratic, prosperous, modern and European future of Moldova.

On my own behalf and on behalf of the cabinet of ministers which I lead, I reaffirm the commitment to watch the observance and correct enforcement of the country’s fundamental law. I invite you that we exercise our rights with good faith and, certainly, that we fulfill our duties with dignity and courage.’’
