Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today is on an official visit to Bucharest, at an invitation by President Klaus Iohannis, the presidential press service has reported.

„Today, I am on an official visit to Bucharest, where I had a discussion with President Klaus Iohannis about the quite rich bilateral agenda between our countries, as well as about the advancement of joint projects in the complex context in which we find ourselves – with a war at the border, hit by inflation, crises and instability,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The head of state thanked President Klaus Iohannis for the consistent support on behalf of Romania for Moldova’s European integration, due to which the country got the status of candidate for accession to the European Union on 23 June 2022.

„I also hope that we can rely on the help of the Bucharest friends, so that we ensure Moldova’s energy security, have accessible energy resources in the cold season and in order not to allow the destabilization of the situation in Moldova,’’ Maia Sandu said.

In the end of the discussions, the head of state noted that Romania was with Moldova during years, both for good and for bad. ‘’I am confident that the Moldovan-Romanian partnership, which we have consolidated in the last years, we help us overcome successfully the difficulties we are facing now,’’ Maia Sandu said in the end of her meeting with the Romanian president.
