Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu visited the Victoria Palace in Bucharest today, where she had a discussion with Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca. The discussions were focused on ensuring Moldova’s energy security, the presidential press service has reported.

„We discussed diverse scenarios for the purchasing and stocking of natural gas and other energy resources, in the quite difficult situation Moldova is facing at present,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The discussions also regarded the projects underway following the joint meeting of the Romanian and Moldovan government, held in last February.

„I thanked, in the context, the Romanian PM and his team for the support of our European approach. We are grateful for the efforts of Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu for the co-founding of the Moldova Support Platform, along with his colleagues from France and Germany, as well as for the assistance on behalf of Romania, announced within the Platform,’’ President Maia Sandu noted.

In the end of the visit, the head of state visited the Romania’s parliament, where she discussed with Deputy President of Senate Alina Gorghiu the strengthening of the cooperation on the parliamentary platform between Romania and Moldova.
