Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- "La Huşcă" is the name of a festival of popular traditions and customs, which took place yesterday in Coşcalia village, Căuşeni district.
The event brought together dozens of artistic collectives from the region, guests from Romania, handicraft exhibitions, traditional dishes, etc. The festival included a unique exhibition of vintage carpets and towels, which are over a hundred years old.
"La Huşcă" is an ancient notion that signifies the meetings of young people on a local image. The festival took place for the fifth consecutive year, becoming popular in the region.
"A few years ago we had an idea to organize a festival that would be a visiting card of the village. We managed to gather a lot of beautiful people from all over the country. The purpose of the festival is to revive popular traditions, to develop national culture, to attract tourists and to train young people who need to know their roots", Coşcalia mayor Elena Eşanu said.
