Repair work in schools, kindergartens in Moldovan capital to be completed by 25 August

Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Repair work in educational institutions in the capital is to be completed by August 25. Deputy head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport in the municipality of Chisinau Andrei Pavaloi made the statement at the operational meeting of the municipal services.

In most institutions, the works have been completed or are in the last stage of completion. "For interventions in kindergartens, 30.4 million lei (about 1.5 million euros) were allocated. In total, works are being carried out in 92 institutions, and in 48 they have been completed. At the same time, 37.8 million lei were allocated for interventions in high school institutions in the capital. 51 institutions were selected to carry out the works. In two of the high schools the activities have been completed, and in 37 they are still taking place", said Andrei Pavaloi.

Pavaloi said "the work should be completed as soon as possible in order not to endanger the educational process".

At the same time, by the beginning of the new academic year, the municipal authorities plan to complete the repair of the sidewalks around the schools and kindergartens, renew the road markings, provide public lighting and clear the dead trees.
