Moldovan deputy premier for reintegration meets Romanian envoy

Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a meeting today with Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova Cristian-Leon Țurcanu, the Bureau of Reintegration Policies has reported.

During the meeting, the good cooperation relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, the permanent support offered to the authorities in Chisinau, the prospects for deepening multi-sector partnerships were discussed, as well as cordial congratulations were sent to the Ambassador from Bucharest on the occasion of taking over the mandate and wishes for success in carrying out a prodigious activity.

The officials addressed the current dynamics of the interaction between Chisinau and Tiraspol, the most current issues affecting the interests of citizens on both banks of the Dniester, the primary lines of intervention by the national authorities and the potential next steps that can be taken.

It was emphasized that it remains a priority for the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to provide essential public services for the residents of the east of the country, to provide the necessary assistance in order to respect fundamental human rights and freedoms, to resume in good conditions the activity of educational institutions with teaching in the Romanian language the Transnistrian region, providing permanent access to lands in the Dubăsari district, removing artificial obstacles to free movement, etc.

In the same way, in the dialogue between the officials, aspects of regional security were touched upon in the context of the events of the last period of time and regarding the efforts of the Republic of Moldova to advance on the European integration agenda, with warm thanks being expressed in this regard to the Romanian authorities for the multidimensional support, unconditional and well-intentioned which is enormously appreciated by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
