Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- At the end of her visit to the Criuleni district, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița went today to Ohrincea - Hârtopul Mare - Peresecina bypass road, recently renovated as part of the National Road Improvement Project in the Republic of Moldova, financed by the World Bank.

According to the government's communication and protocol department, the rehabilitation works of the road section, with a total length of 18.5 km, were carried out by a company from the Republic of Moldova, the value of the contract is about 99.8 million lei.

As part of the rehabilitation project, works were carried out to repair the rainwater drainage system, lay a new asphalt surface and improve road safety. Also, the entrances to the private yards of the households crossed by the road were arranged and the access of emergency crews was increased.

Gavrilița said that the execution of the infrastructure rehabilitation works must be carried out in best terms, so that the resources offered by the development partners are fully exploited. In this sense, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers ordered the planning of the meeting of the Road Fund Commission as soon as possible, during which the necessary solutions will be identified to speed up the road modernization process in the regions.

"The modernization of the road infrastructure must remain one of the Government's priorities. The people of the Republic of Moldova are waiting for good roads, today, now, not in 10 years. We must make sure that all infrastructure projects, carried out with the support of external partners, are ongoing and will be completed within the set deadline", said Gavrilița.

Corridor 11 connects several localities, crossing the villages of Peresecina, Micleşti, Işnovăţ and Hârtopul Mare.
