Patients with oncological diseases to have easier access to compensated medicines

Chisinau, Aug. 3 /MOLDPRES/- The access of patients with oncological diseases to the treatments they receive at home or in institutions in the district will be facilitated. The announcement was made by the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, after the meeting of the Council for compensated medicines.
According to the cited source, for the first time in the history of the national medical insurance system, oncological diseases have been established as a strategic priority for the next period, for the treatment of which compensated medicines will be available.
Thus, patients' access to the treatments they receive at home or in institutions in the district will be achieved in a different way than now.
According to statistical data, oncological diseases are the second main cause of mortality in our country, and between 2012 and 2019, an increase in the level of cancer mortality was attested.
