Chisinau, 4 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- The salaries of the employees of the Municipal Enterprise Liftservice are to be increased by 30%, starting this October.

Company director Petru Budurin emphasized that the increase will be possible because the tariff for servicing the elevators in the capital has been increased by 80%, starting from August 1.

"In the first days of the current month, the notifications with the calculations made based on the new tariffs approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council were sent. Taxes are to be collected and transmitted to the enterprise at the end of September - beginning of October. After receiving the funds, we will initially pay off the company's debt in the amount of 800 thousand lei (about 40 thousand euros), which accumulated in the first half of the current year, later we will increase the salary payments", said Petru Budurin.

The management of Liftservice said that as a priority, the salaries of frontline workers will be increased. "These are mechanics, operators and locksmiths. These categories of employees are recruited in other private enterprises, where they are offered higher salaries, so we risk to lose workers. At the same time, we are making an effort to increase the salaries of all employees, as they are quite low," said Petru Budurin.

The Municipal Enterprise Liftservice has about 170 employees.

In the middle of this July, the tariff for servicing the elevators in the capital was increased by 80%. Until now, the minimum fee paid for this service was 15 lei for one person, after the increase it will be 27 lei. The last time the rates were adjusted was in 2009.

In the management of Liftservice there are about 2300 elevators in the capital. More than 95% of them have exceeded the operating term, which is 25 years.
