EU, WHO donated 15 cars to National Agency for Public Health

Chisinau, 4 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- A batch of 15 cars were donated today to the National Agency for Public Health from the European Union and the World Health Organization.

The Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, was also present at the donation transmission event, who mentioned that the cars will be distributed to health centers in the localities and will increase the mobility of specialists. She added that the entire health system needs strengthening after it was previously subjected to several reforms that weakened its capacity, especially the health centers need attention.

"We have a mission to strengthen the public health system and regional centers. We have already started the process of redirecting financial sources for the repair of health centers in the localities. We are also working on strengthening the storage capacities of vaccines, reagents and consumables. A new software will also be created and conditions in the laboratories will be improved," the official said.

The 15 cars worth over 3.7 million lei were purchased through projects financed by the EU and WHO.
