Chisinau, Aug. 5 /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law on the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund were published today in the Official Journal.

According to the document, the objective of the fund will be to prevent and combat the energy vulnerability of the population. Thus, for vulnerable consumers, monthly compensation will be established for the payment of thermal energy bills in the centralized system, for the consumption of electricity and natural gas.

Subsidies will also be granted for the efficiency of the consumption of energy resources. The funding sources of the fund will be the means of the state budget, the European ones or other external sources. Their size will be approved by the annual state budget law.

The Law on energy vulnerability reduction fund will enter into force on September 1st. The Government, within two months from the date of publication of this law, will develop and approve the normative acts necessary for its implementation.
