Moldovan speaker had farewell meeting with Lithuanian ambassador

Chisinau, 5 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had a farewell meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova Kestutis Kudzmanas. The head of the Legislature thanked the diplomat for his work and personal contribution to the development of the Republic of Moldova, assuring him of all the appreciation and gratitude of our people, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

"His Excellency is a good friend and promoter of our country's interests. The mandate of Mr. Kudzmanas is notable for dozens of important projects already carried out in the Republic of Moldova and others that are underway," the President of the Parliament emphasized.

During the discussions, the head of the Legislature reiterated the gratitude of our people for Lithuania's support in obtaining the status of a candidate country for the Republic of Moldova to join the EU. At the same time, Igor Grosu highly appreciated the assistance offered by Lithuania to our country in the implementation of structural reforms. "We will continue to collaborate just as closely with Lithuania. The Republic of Lithuania is an example in many key sectors, such as energy efficiency and independence, combating disinformation, fields that today are of strategic importance for our country, in a very difficult geopolitical context", said the speaker.

For his part, Ambassador Kestutis Kudzmanas assured that Lithuania remains a firm supporter of the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova.
