New public park to be set up in Soroca with USAID support

Chisinau, August 8 /MOLDPRES/- A new park will be built in the municipality of Soroca, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) announced yesterday.

"Soon, the people of Sorocen will enjoy a new public park, set up with the support of USAID, through the My Community Program. Outdoor walks, meetings with friends and unforgettable moments with loved ones will be able to be spent in a green and welcoming space, designed with care and furnished according to modern standards", indicates the quoted source.

The park will be located in the northern part of the city of Soroca, on an area of approximately six thousand square meters. "The development includes pavement paving works, installation of the public street lighting system, the installation of benches and trash cans, as well as the development of green spaces," according to USAID.

The value of the project is 90 thousand dollars, of which 55 thousand are provided by USAID Moldova, and the rest are local contributions.

The construction of a modern park was identified as a priority by the inhabitants of Soroca, during the strategic planning sessions, carried out with the support of the My Community Program.
