Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met in Ștefan Vodă, the city designated as the Youth Capital 2022, with participants of the International Forum Youth for a Democratic Future. The official spoke about the role of young people in strengthening democracy and current and future challenges, the presidential press service has reported.

"I appreciated the optimism, enthusiasm and curiosity of young people from Moldova and those coming from other European countries at this forum. I told them about my experience working with young people from Moldova who had the courage to come to the public sector and about their impressive achievements at the Ministry of Education and in political life. I told them that results do not come easily and that they must be ready to work hard, honestly and with passion," said Maia Sandu.

At the same time, the head of state urged the participants of the forum to get involved in the debate on youth policies, but also to be interested and engage in the dialogue on the major challenges: combating climate change, strengthening support for democracy and for the European integration of our country, countering disinformation and propaganda that justifies war.

"The future of everyone, but especially of the younger generations, depends on how fast and how good our responses to these challenges will be. To succeed, we need to act as a team. This is the only way we will make Moldova strong and prosperous, in the family of the European Union", said Maia Sandu.
