Intervention teams from Moldovan capital presented damage caused to road infrastructure due to bad weather

Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- The intervention teams subordinated to the General Directorate of Public Transport and Communication Ways of the capital reported a series of damages to the municipal road infrastructure, following the bad weather on Tuesday evening.

According to Chisinau city hall, it is damage to the roadway, roadsides and rainwater networks. In the same way, there have been announced cases of blocking of rain collectors following the washing of alluvium, the infiltration of rainwater into the road body, which caused foundation failures and landslides. At the same time, the filling materials were washed away, the asphalt dislodged and the sidewalk damaged.

There was also damage to the public lighting system. These include damage and collapse of pylons, breaking/falling of cables from the power grid, flooding of control consoles and failure of traffic lights.

To liquidate the consequences of the bad weather, 2.5 million lei (about 125 thousand euros) were allocated from the Reserve Fund of the Chisinau municipality.
