Ambassador of Lithuania completed diplomatic mission in Moldova

Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration today held a farewell meeting with Lithuanian ambassador to Chisinau Kestutis Kudzmanas, on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic mission in the Republic of Moldova, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The official pointed out that Lithuania is an example for our country in several important areas, among them energy efficiency, public order, the defense sector and combating hybrid threats, all of which are of strategic importance for the Republic of Moldova in reforms and European modernization.

Popescu said that we will further develop contacts and cooperation at the level of local authorities for the benefit of both countries.

"I was assured that Lithuania remains a firm supporter of the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and, on this occasion, I reiterated the gratitude of our people for the support of Lithuania in obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession. I wished the ambassador good luck in his further diplomatic activity and to remain a good friend of our country", he said.
