Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/- Several photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roofs of seven social institutions in the country. The devices were donated by the Government of Lithuania.

In an interview given by the Lithuanian Ambassador to Chisinau, Kestutis Kudzmanas, for the Agency, the official emphasized that the solar panels are to be brought to the Republic of Moldova in September.

"The installations will be located on social buildings, such as hospitals, educational institutions or town halls. They will arrive in the Republic of Moldova this September, and they will be installed for 2-3 weeks. Lithuania is an active donor in the field of energy efficiency. We plan to continue the project to help social institutions and organizations. At the same time, due to own energy production, budget resources will be saved. Such panels can also be installed by economic agents in order to diversify the existing energy resources, and later to be able to sell the produced energy", said Kestutis Kudzmanas.

Photovoltaic panels are to be installed at: Toma Ciorbă Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Chisinau, N. Sulac Cultural Home in Cantemir, Cantemir District Hospital, Valeriu Hanganu School of Arts in Cantemir district, Ocnița City Hall, Municipal Enterprise Apă - Canal from Ocnița and the Public Association Perspectiva Vieții.

The project has a budget of 550 thousand euros. As part of this, last year solar panels were installed at the Mihail Ciachir college in Comrat.
