Works carried out in Edineț to improve water supply services with EU support

Chisinau, August 22 /MOLDPRES/- In Edineț, the construction-assembly works are in full swing within the project to improve water supply services in the city, financed by the European Union, the Regional Development Agency (ADR) North announced today.

"Excavation works, installation of pipes in the ground, installation of chimneys and branching, concreting, asphalting, etc. are carried out. Following the implementation of this project, over 18 thousand inhabitants of the city of Edineț will have access to the water supply system", indicates ADR Nord.

In Edineț, as part of the project financed by the European Union, 40 km of water supply networks are being rehabilitated and expanded, which, through the 2,778 connections, will provide safe drinking water to more than 18 thousand inhabitants of the city, without interruptions. The total value of the project in Edineț is 58.70 million lei (about 2.9 million euros), of which 50.70 million lei - granted by the European Union and 8 million lei - local contribution.

The investment measure Improving water supply services in Edineț is financed by the European Union and implemented by ADR Nord and the project Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova (MSPL). The MSPL project is financed by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by the International Cooperation Agency of Germany Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova.
