Chisinau, August 26 /MOLDPRES/- The project to amend the Law on mandatory health insurance funds (FAOAM) for 2022 was voted today in the first reading by the Parliament.

Under the document, the revenues of the mandatory healthcare insurance funds are expected to amount to 12.559 billion lei, 186 million lei more than the approved plan.

At the same time, the volume of FAOAM expenses for this year was increased by 215 million lei and will be 12.833 billion lei. This increase is determined by the increase in expenses related to the fund for the payment of medical and pharmaceutical services.

According to the authors of the document, the increase in expenses is also determined by the increase in the salaries of the staff in the medical and sanitary institutions included in the system of compulsory health care insurance, starting from 1 October.

AOAM funds will have a deficit of 274 million lei, up by 29 million lei than the approved plan and will be covered from the balance of the financial means at the beginning of the year.

The draft amendment to the Law on compulsory health insurance funds for 2022 is to be voted on in the second reading.
