Several legislative amendments on benefits for families with children came into force

Chisinau, 1 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Several legislative amendments on offering benefits to families with children entered into force today.

According to the National Social Insurance Agency (CNAS), the insured person who is on child care leave until the age of 3 is entitled to a monthly allowance for raising the child according to the following options: from the date of granting the child care leave until the child turns 3 years old, for a period of 24 months and for a period of 12 months.

In case of requesting the monthly allowance for raising the child up to the age of 3, the amount of the allowance will be 30% of the calculation base. At the same time, in the case of the monthly allowance for a period of 24 months, the amount of the allowance will be 60% of the calculation base, and for the next 12 months, it will represent 30% of the calculation base.

In case of requesting the monthly allowance for raising the child for a period of 12 months, the amount of the allowance will be 90% of the calculation base. The initially requested option for establishing the allowance for raising the child cannot be changed later.

Under the amendments, the period for granting paternity leave was extended from 56 days to 12 months after the birth of the child. Thus, paternity leave lasting 14 calendar days can be granted to the father within 12 months of the child's birth.
