Law enforcement officers carry out safety campaign

Chisinau, 5 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The law enforcement officers initiated School+Police=Safety campaign. This traditionally takes place at the beginning of the school year and includes actions to inform children and parents about safety in the educational and social environment.

Press officer of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) Oxana Toderiță said that within the campaign, the law enforcement officers will present to pupils the state institutions that come to support child victims. "It is important for them to know where they can go and which state bodies they can contact if necessary. At the same time, during the informative hours, the police officers will talk to children about: violence, safety in the online environment, delinquent behavior, school and home abandonment. The pupils are informed that if needed, they can call the child's phone: 116 111", said the quoted source.

IGP employees will also talk to children about safety measures when they are alone at home, when talking to strangers in the street or online, when moving in crowded places, and when crossing the street.

At the same time, the law enforcement officers also came up with recommendations for parents. For safety purposes, they urged children to learn their parents' home address and phone number.

The event is held annually in September in all localities of the country.
