Artists from 11 countries to participate in Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - Artists from Egypt, Germany, Italy, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Spain, USA, Taiwan, Ukraine and Venezuela will participate in the 30th issue of the Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival, due in Chisinau on 8-25 September 2022.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of the Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Theatre, Ion Grosu, has said that 22 singers and conductors invited would be present at the festival.
At a today’s news conference, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said the Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival was one of the principal events in Moldova, which enjoys the support of the competent ministry and Moldova’s government.
The festival will open with the show Carmen, an opera in four acts by George Bizet, on 8 September at 18:00.
At the same time, the event will end with a gala concert conducted by Nicolae Dohotaru on 25 September.
The 2022 issue of the festival is organized by the Culture Ministry, Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre and other institutions. The festival’s budget is of about two million lei (over 100,000 euros).
