Moldovan parliament speaker invites Danish business people to invest in development of renewable energy from Moldova

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu in Copenhagen has met representatives of the principal Danish energy companies, the head of the Confederation of Danish Industry, as well as the deputy heads and members of the Foreign Policy Committee of Denmark’s parliament, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The main subject discussed was the world energy crisis. The interlocutors exchanged ideas on the energy resilience and the Danish experience in the field. The parliament speaker said that, in the last year, Moldova had been making solid efforts to strengthen the country’s energy security and diversify the energy resources and any piece of advice on behalf of developed countries is useful. ‘’We are quite interested in Denmark’s policies of energy efficiency, renewable energy, especially solar panels, wind turbines, etc. In the context, I made an invitation to a group of business people to come to Chisinau to invest in the renewable energy,’’ the parliament speaker said.       

The participants in the meeting also tackled the subject on the enhancement of the commercial relations and Danish investments in Moldova. The parliament speaker gave assurances that Moldova was open for investments and was expecting investors from Denmark, as this is an opportunity for the creation of well-paid jobs in the country.

The Moldovan parliament speaker and the deputy head of the Danish parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee, Aastrup Jensen, discussed Moldova’s foreign policy. The speaker noted that, after the getting of the status of country candidate for EU, Moldova has fully got involved in the process of country’s reformation. ‘’We understand that the European integration process is lasting and we are prepared to act, in order to provide to the citizens a future in the great European family. I was glad to hear that Danish MPs committed to analyze Moldova’s re-putting on the list of priorities of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), which would give our country possibility to benefit from more important projects for the well-being of our citizens,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.
