Speaker meets Queen Margrethe II of Denmark

Chisinau, 8 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting with Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark on Wednesday. The discussions took place at the official residence of the Danish royal family, Fredensborg Palace, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The speaker thanked for the Danish support over the years, and noted that in 2022 this was felt even more strongly. He appreciated that Denmark was with the Republic of Moldova from the first days since Russia invaded Ukraine, offering humanitarian aid packages, including seven ambulances worth over 100 thousand euros. Also, the country was supported in the process of obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession.

"With certainty, the Republic of Moldova and Denmark have built during 30 years strong bilateral relations that we want to develop further for the good of the people of our countries", he said.

Grosu congratulated the Queen for Denmark's successes in various sectors, especially in energy. "The Danish experience is very useful for Moldova, which is at the beginning of the road in this regard," he said.
