Chisinau, 9 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the Law on copyright and related rights was published in the Official Journal of Moldova today.

Thus, the legislation in the field was harmonized with the regulations of the European Community acquis. The establishment of the new legal framework requires extensive reformation of the rules governing copyright and related rights.

At the same time, the document provides for the establishment of a legal framework, which will establish a clear mechanism for the collection, distribution and payment of remuneration by collective management organizations. Also, the draft law aims to increase the degree of transparency in the activity of collective management organizations.

This law enters into force within one month from publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova, except for the provisions of Article 77, which will enter into force on 1 January 2025.
