Moldovan fine artist awarded two prizes at contest in Italy

Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/ - A Gala of Awards of the International Art Contest (painting, poetry, haiku), LA FONTANA DELL’ AMORE, has been recently held in Naples, Italy. Over 60 competitors from Italy, Moldova, Romania, Spain and other countries participated in the contest. Teacher, fine artist and poet Iurie Brasoveanu represented Moldova at the contest as an honorary guest. Iurie Brasoveanu was highly appreciated as head of the jury (painting section) with the Prize of Excellence MICHELANGELO BUONAROTTI, and as head of the jury (poetry section) with the Prize of Excellence DANTE ALIGHIERI.
Iurie Brașoveanu was born in the Copaceni village, northern Sangerei district, on 7 November 1962. He graduated from the A. Plamadeala Fine Arts College and the Painting and Graphic Faculty of the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University from Chisinau. Staying in France and Italy as of 2001 till 2020, he dealt with iconographic painting, religious paintings, portraits, restorations of furniture and second-hand bookshop. Brasoveanu painted two churches from Moldova and two ones in Italy. He also illustrated 29 books signed by authors from Italy, Moldova and Romania and painted 13 icons.
