Customs Service collected over 723.3 million lei last week

Chisinau, 12 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- On 5-11 September the Customs Service collected over 723.3 million lei (about 36.1 million euros) to the state budget, up by 9.0% than the budgetary burden for the period.
According to the Customs Service, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 18.7 million lei were collected, which represents 2.6% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.
Last week, 10,919 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 81,963 crossings.
In terms of the fight against fraud, 21 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 110 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 22.5 billion lei from the state budget, up by 21.7% compared to the same period last year.
